Grow Smiles

Hello everyone, how are we all doing? I'm hoping to be back blogging more regularly again following recent setbacks; after the last few days of visiting blogs I can feel the old inspiration bubbling away again.

This is my card today.....I never give my characters blonde hair, I almost always go for black and occasionally brown, but I wanted to try to show bright light causing darker shadows at the back of my little lady's head and I felt light-coloured hair would show this better. I used the colours Y00, Y21 and Y28 to make her blonde hair, and it's a much simpler type of hair colouring than I usually do. I'm afraid I don't know what the image is, it's a digi that was printed off by a friend of mine and posted to me so if anyone knows what it is I wouldn't mind knowing the make so I can buy one myself.  Edit: Kevin has let me know that this is an Inger Harding image (thanks Kevin), and can you believe it's a freebie? You can grab this little beauty along with other gorgeous freebies here.

I used some of my favourite papers and precious Prima leaves on this, and a strip of lace ribbon and a punched border strip just finish it off.  Hope you like it.

One for the ABC Christmas Challenge

Hi everyone, and thanks very much for all the great comments for my (fairly) clean and simple card yesterday, I love it that you take the time to drop by and comment.

Now, I am determined to make some Christmas cards throughout the year so although it's only January, here is one for the ABC Christmas challenge, which is quite an easy theme of Anything Goes.

This is also being entered in the Top Tip Tuesday challenge, All Sentimental.

The image is coloured with Copics and the papers are Paper Cellar, Victorian Burgundy, which I thought went well with the image as the girl looks a bit Victorian.  A little lace and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards completes it. Hope you like:

A Welsh Christmas card

Hi all, hope you're having a good weekend. The weather has taken a turn for the foggy and gloomy, so it's a great day for staying in crafting, right? I am hoping to crack on with a challenge card today; well, that's the plan but we shall see if I get round to it.

This is a card I am entering in the Totally Papercrafts Challenge; this week's challenge is Snow & Snowflakes, and as you can see I've got both in this card.  It's one of the very few Christmas cards I've actually made so far, I know I ought to get a move on!  The sentiment on this card is Welsh for 'Christmas Greetings' (I've only just found a shop that sells sentiment stamps and sentiment banners in Welsh, Crafter's Cove in LLandudno).

This is my very first blog challenge entry, so fingers crossed I can do it right!  Anyway, hope you like the card:
